[ubuntu] Merge 2 partitions into 1

Ubuntu 12.04 installed on 282gb partition of 500gb drive. The other partition is Ext4 but has nothing on it. I would like to combine both into 1 partition without losing the Ubuntu 12.04 installation and associated files.

Can anyone please help?
